The Release Photo Group first saw the light of day one night in April 2009, in a public house somewhere near Croydon,
South London. Three men with similar ideas and outlooks (cough!); talking photography. After a long discussion over a half
pint each it was decided that we should go on an outing and take some photographs, some of which we might allow to be "nice" as
long as we try, for most of the time, to avoid all those inviting "camera ready" subjects but, most importantly, have fun. After a longer discussion and another half pint the final decision was made; we were going to Dorset and, yes, we were bringing the tripods. Upon our return, and discovering we were still friends, and over another half pint, the Release Group was well and truely born; a vehicle for our own artistic endeavours but also a means of encouraging the best in interesting and original photography from like-minded souls. The Release Group is: Ian "The Ref" Brash: A superbly fit and handsome man who likes to spend his time running up and down green fields while watching grown men kicking a round ball. Ian has taken a very good shot of a duck. Martin Faiers: A lover of early music, Mahler, red wine, travel, and anything else that can be termed the good life. Martin has a way with colour in a black and white sort of way. A good medieval dancer by all accounts
